About Julie

Julie Wallace draws from painting traditions and graphic illustration techniques to playfully depict scenes of womanhood, domesticity, and simple pleasures. She constructs these images using a variety of source material, including fashion magazines, interior design elements, and digital bric-à-brac vying for our attention. Through dynamic composition, vibrant color, and a multi-layered approach, Wallace builds environments rich with whimsy, wonder, and connections to our digital lives and inner worlds.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Julie is now based in the Washington, D.C. area.
